The Mortals in the House

The ghost stories of Elizabeth Gaskell are to be brought to life in the Manchester house in which they were written in The Mortals in the House by Katharine Armitage.

By staging the show in Gaskell's currently dilapidated house in Plymouth Grove, Tea Break Theatre aims to create an immersive dramatic performance that gives the audience the chance to explore the building, giving them a genuinely chilling experience.

This is a new adaptation based on three of Gaskell's short stories, Curious, If True, The Poor Clare and The Old Nurse's Story which are performed within a narrative framework of a storyteller haunted by the tales she tells.

The production is unsuitable for children under 10 or those with special access requirements.
