Gill Jordan, best known as Black Country character Doreen Tipton, is to play Fairy Sugarsnap in Lichfield Garrick’s 2024 panto Jack and the Beanstalk.
In 2012, she co-created Doreen Tipton and toured the Midlands with her show as well as appearing in several pantos. She has now temporarily retired the character.
Previously, she had her own theatre company which secured a long-term residency at the Blists Hill Victorian Town in Ironbridge, Shropshire. She also played the Nurse in Stafford Gatehouse’s production of Romeo and Juliet for the theatre’s 30th Shakespeare festival in 2022.
Jordan will join resident dame Sam Rabone in Jack and the Beanstalk, which will run at the Garrick from Friday 22 November until Sunday 5 January 2025.
