Ginny Davis, hoping to be punctual for her show at Buxton Fringe Festival

Ginny Davis departs from her usual one-woman format when she stages her two-hander Fashionably Late at Buxton Festival Fringe.

She set herself the challenge of creating comedy out of sorrow and came up with Fashionably Late which she says is not black nor dark.

The play features the Rich family who are planning a party to celebrate dad's 60th birthday and Fred's 18th when tragedy strikes. Should the party go ahead? With a will, characteristic wit and spirit, added to some nifty lateral thinking, they find the way to celebrate family life in unique style.

Davis has enjoyed success at two previous Buxton Fringe Festivals with a best theatre production nomination for Double Booked in 2011 and a five-star review for Something Fishy in 2012.

She will be joined on stage in Fashionably Late by James Goldsworthy who trained with the Year Out Drama Company, Stratford.

“Quite simply, he's a natural,” says Davis. “I'm delighted to be performing alongside such a talented 21-year-old. He’s just as thrilled to be sharing the stage with a woman old enough to be his grandmother. He's never said so, but you can tell, can't you?”

Fashionably Late will be performed in Underground Venues, Old Hall Hotel, The Square, Buxton on Friday and Saturday, 11 and 12 July, at 9PM and on Sunday 13 July at 1PM.
