Artists collective Gob Squad is to hold a two-day workshop offering an insight into the strategies and methodologies it uses when creating new work.
Founded in Nottingham more than 20 years ago, Gob Squad is now based in Berlin. Its work “explores the point where theatre meets art, media and real life”. It places its work “at the heart of urban life”—in houses, shops, underground stations, car parks, hotels or on the street.
The workshop will outline how Gob Squad “uses text, video and sites to create touching, humorous and confessional performance work which mixes reality with fiction”. It will be held at Derby dance venue Déda on Thursday 9 and Friday 10 June from 11AM until 5PM.
Gob Squad will also stage its adaptation of Tolstoy’s War and Peace at Nottingham Playhouse on Tuesday 7 and Wednesday 8 June as part of Nottingham European Arts and Theatre Festival 2016 (neat16).
