Nottinghamshire theatre company New Perspectives is to continue its postcard drama series with Fair Play, a six-part mystery based on Nottingham’s Goose Fair.

Created for 5- to 11-year-olds although “perfect” for all the family to enjoy, six postcards will land on doormats over the course of six weeks. Each gives recipients a special code to crack and a mystery letter to help them determine the writer of the cards.

Fair Play follows New Perspectives’ letterbox dramas Love From Cleethorpes and Dare to Look Down!

The new interactive series features six original designs by graphic artist Ruth Disney who has taken inspiration from rides at one of the largest travelling fairs in Europe. The postcards can be mailed to addresses in the UK and overseas and schools are being encouraged to take part.

New Perspectives artistic director Angharad Jones said, “we hope that we can give space for children to develop creative expression both at home and in the classroom by becoming detectives. The cards are stacked with ideas that develop their creativity in a fun way including writing and drawing.”

The postcards will be mailed out each week from 2 April. Bookings can be made until 20 March.
