An upgraded tribute to one of the world’s finest groups is to return to the UK for a national tour starting in summer 2018.
West End producer Mark Goucher, who is also chief executive of the Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham, has struck a deal with Canadian producer Jeff Parry to take over the commercial running of Let It Be: A Celebration Of The Music Of The Beatles.
The musical has a new second half, giving audiences a glimpse at how the band may have continued as a four-piece. Fans will see the Beatles reunite for one night only, with the new section of the show set a decade after their group went their separate ways.
Michael Gagliano will play John Lennon, Emanuele Angeletti is Paul McCartney, John Brosnan plays George Harrison and Ben Cullingworth is Ringo Starr. The band will be joined on stage throughout the tour by musical director Michael Bramwell on keyboards.
Let It Be: A Celebration Of The Music Of The Beatles will première at Wales Millenniumn Centre, Cardiff from 20 until 25 August. It then goes on a magical mystery tour to Cheltenham Everyman, Liverpool Empire Theatre, Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall, Dublin Gaiety Theatre, Hull’s New Theatre, Edinburgh Playhouse, Dartford Orchard Theatre and Manchester Opera House from 22 until 27 October.
An extended tour of Germany will follow and the show may return to London in late 2018 or early 2019.
