American Idiot

A new production of musical American Idiot—featuring the music of Green Day—comes to the Palace Theatre, Manchester in April, following a run at London’s Arts Theatre.

Winner of two Tony Awards and the 2010 Grammy Award winner for Best Musical Show Album, it’s the story of three boyhood friends, each searching for meaning in a post 9/11 world.

It stars singer Amelia Lily as Whatsername and Matt Thorpe as Johnny.

Its hit songs include "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", "21 Guns", "Wake Me Up When September Ends", "Holiday" and the title track from Green Day’s 2004 Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum album.

This production recently won five Broadway World UK Awards and seven WhatsOnStage Award nominations, including for Best Musical Revival, Best Direction and Best Choreography.

It runs from April 5-9.
