Internationally-renowned theatre company Half Moon is coming to Lancashire next week with its new show Guantanamo Boy, based on the critically-acclaimed novel by Anna Perera.

Set in Rochdale, it explores the life of a young British Muslim living in a post 9/11 world. The show, at Burnley Youth Theatre next Monday to Wednesday, is the only northern date on the tour.

Khalid likes football, hip hop, computer games and has a huge crush on a girl—like any other teenage boy. But being a young Muslim in the aftermath of 9/11 can be dangerous.

A digital platform that accompanies the play is a participatory way for young people to learn about the wider political context and features 'talking heads' from leading advocacy organisations such as Amnesty International and the Human Rights Lawyers Association.

The performances are recommended for ages 12+
