An extra performance has been added to the touring production of Driving Miss Daisy, which features Derby actor Gwen Taylor, when it arrives at Derby Theatre.

The venue says demand for tickets has been high; the Wednesday matinee sold out almost straight away and the evening performances are all on the verge of selling out too.

An extra matinée will be staged at 2:30PM on Thursday 22 November.

Theatre manager Gary Johnson said, “We expected this production to be popular and are delighted with the response we’ve received from individuals, schools and groups.

“We expect the Thursday matinée performance to sell out, so my advice would be to book as soon as you can.”

Gwen Taylor plays Daisy Werthan and Don Warrington is Hoke Coleburn in Driving Miss Daisy which arrives at Derby Theatre from 19 until 24 November.

Gwen Taylor said. "I'm always chuffed when Derby Theatre is included in a tour, not least because my home town gives me such a great welcome.

“Imagine my delight to hear that we're putting in an extra matinée because the response to Driving Miss Daisy has been so good."
