The Royal Shakespeare Company is offering families plenty of activities during the February half-term holiday, including the chance to see a technical team do a high-speed set change in 90 minutes.
Those aged 14 and over can see the Swan Theatre being transformed from The Shoemaker’s Holiday to Oppenheimer on Wednesday 18 February from 9 until 10:30AM and the following day they can see the set change back to The Shoemaker’s Holiday from 2 until 3:30PM. Tickets cost £5.
Some events are free while advanced booking is recommended for others.
In the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, former RSC head of wigs and make-up Brenda Leedham will show how bruises, cuts and scars and created in Blood, Guts and Gore. There will be two one-hour shows, on Monday 16 February and Friday 20 February, both at 11AM. The cost is £3.50 for adults and £2.50 for children.
Other attractions include a collection of props, costumes and accessories from RSC productions, a session of speaking Shakespeare, a workshop with an RSC expert on stage fighting and the opportunity to create a shortened version of a Shakespeare play in a day.
