HighTide Festival 2012

Image by Justyna Maluchnik from HighTide's cut&paste Design ProjectThis year's HighTide Festival at Halesworth in Suffolk will feature Juliet Stevenson, Griff Rhys Jones and stars of Downton Abbey.

Highlight's of the Festival include Laura Poliakoff's new play Clockwork directed by HighTide Festival Theatre artistic director Steven Atkinson, Downton stars Brendan Coyle and Lesley Nicol in Seizing Cinderella, a new play by Stephanie Street directed by Bruce Guthrie of The Bridge Project, Ella Hickson's new play Boys directed by Headlong associate director Robert Icke and Mike Daisey's controversial The Agony and the Ecstasy of Steve Jobs directed by Jean-Michele Gregory.

There will be four panel discussions under the banner of HighMind Talks: "Art, Truth and Journalism" hosted by Will Gompertz with Libby Purves of The Times, Ben Hammersley of Wired Magazine and Jean-Michele Gregory; "Juliet Stevenson In Conversation" hosted by Will Gompertz; "Griff Rhys Jones in Conversation"; "On Class Warfare" with novelists Owen Jones and Alan Bissett and playwright Ella Hickson.

Playwright David Edgar will appear beside representatives of new writing theatres including The Bush, the Royal Court, Public Theater New York. Eastern Angles and Soho Theatre for a symposium "A Changing Tide".
