A gala dinner attended by nearly 300 people from the business community in the West Midlands raised almost £50,000 for Birmingham Hippodrome Theatre Development Trust.
The Hippodrome will use some of the cash to deliver education projects and stage outdoor performances.
Entertainment was provided by Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera singer Earl Carpenter, Jodie Prenger, who played Nancy in Sir Cameron Mackintosh’s production of Oliver!, and Caroline Sheen who appeared in Mary Poppins.
Birmingham Hippodrome chief executive Stuart Griffiths said, “ The event marked our fifth gala dinner which has now become a popular part of Birmingham’s social calendar.
“This year our fundraising efforts are focused on expanding the work we do across the community, and we’re grateful for the generous support we received on the night, enabling us to continue to create meaningful live theatrical experiences for generations to come.”
