Birmingham Hippodrome has revealed the cast for No Such Thing as Wolves, a new musical from two of the writers of the Horrible Histories franchise, which is to be staged at Christmas 2025.
Gerard Foster (book and lyrics) and Richie Webb (music and lyrics) have written No Such Thing as Wolves, the second show in the Hippodrome’s My First Musical series. It follows The Jingleclaw, written by Robyn Grant and Tim Gilvin, which the venue’s new musical theatre department produced in 2024.
The cast features Faye Campbell (Hettie Hedgehog), Matthew Rutherford (Harry Hedgehog), Beth Gourlay (Sydney Squirrel), Elinor Peregrin (Woofy) and Oliver Sidney (Wiffy).
The creative team includes director Emily Ling Williams, Hannah Sibai (set and costume designer), Arielle Smith (choreographer), Alex Beetschen (music supervisor, arranger and orchestrator), Pearson Casting (casting director), Deirdre O'Halloran (dramaturg), James Ashfield (producer) and Finlay Carroll (assistant producer).
Deirdre O’Halloran, the Hippodrome’s head of new musical theatre, said, “we’re thrilled to have assembled this stellar team of West Midlands and national talent that will bring Richie and Gerard’s fantastic story to life in the Patrick Studio. Under the leadership of the wonderful Emily Ling Williams, this is sure to be an excellent production, providing our youngest audiences with plenty of laughter, fun and catchy tunes.”
No Such Thing as Wolves will run from Saturday 6 December until Sunday 4 January 2026.
