There are opportunities to explore the plays of Peter Shaffer and the poetry of Stevie Smith at Chichester over the Easter holidays.

The Peter Shaffer project lasts for five weeks and focuses on Shaffer's plays and what they require of the performer.

Using extracts from a variety of Shaffer's scripts, participants will experiment with the text, and explore the themes and styles they contain.

The sessions are led by drama practitioner Megan Purdie in the Steven Pimlott Building from 20 to 22 April and are open to 18-year-olds and older.

Also in the Steven Pimlott Building for the same age group is a weekly theatre project over four weeks, discovering and exploring the poetry of Stevie Smith led by drama practitioner Kim Hope.

After learning about the poet Stevie Smith and her poems using theatrical exercises and techniques, the weekly project will culminate in a one-off performance in the Minerva Theatre on Saturday 17 May.
