With more than 6,000 theatre shows, film screenings, exhibitions, workshops and events a year, Manchester’s HOME reveals a few of the new productions and festivals for the New Year.
Making its debut at the venue, Bourgeois & Maurice’s Insane Animals is a joyride from the dawn of civilisation to the sequinned near-future. With the planet in chaos and humanity hurtling towards extinction, two hyper-glam aliens arrive on earth with a simple mission: to help the human species survive.
A mind-bending, time-travelling musical comedy from “modern-day music hall stars” runs from February 28 to March 14.
HOME’S annual PUSH Festival is one of the region’s key arts festivals, which next year incorporates an all-day creative takeover from Manchester-based theatre company Box of Tricks and the return of Platform Manchester!, a night showcasing choreographers and dancers from across Manchester.
It runs from January 18 to February 1.
