Freedom Studios has announced a large-scale production aimed at examining attitudes towards the ageing population of Yorkshire and beyond.

The show, Home Sweet Home, is a co-production with London’s Entelechy Arts. It is to include five professional actors alongside a large supporting cast of community actors, singers and dancers, the majority of whom are themselves aged over 60.

Director Tom Wright and writer Emma Adams have undertaken research and development in Bradford, Lewisham and Stockton, interviewing and devising with over 200 older people from the region.

The production, which aims to put older people centre stage but appeal to a large cross-section of the community, will have its première at the Ukrainian Centre in Bradford, running there from 1 to 5 April before embarking on a tour to London and elsewhere.
