'Bysmal Boys and Not Being Mean

Following success at Greater Manchester Fringe Festival, Northern Rep Theatre is bringing two plays back to its home town of Macclesfield.

Laura Genders, writer of 'Bysmal Boys and Not Being Mean, will have her work performed in the town where both plays are set.

Set in 1977, in 'Bysmal Boys, a national strike threatens to bring the country to a standstill for the first time in fire brigade history.

Not Being Mean sees three sisters come together to discuss upcoming nuptials on a sunny, Sunday morning' a one-act, three-hander by a trio of local performers.

Both plays were originally performed in Manchester and received multiple nominations and a win.
