Chester Performs announces the appointment of Alex Clifton as its artistic director. He will also hold the role for the organisation’s new home: Chester’s brand new £37m cultural centre opening late next year.
He is not new to Chester Performs as he founded, and is the current artistic director of, Chester’s Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre.
Since opening in 2010, the highly acclaimed repertory season has grown from playing to an initial audience of 5,000 to 25,000. Clifton is also a senior acting teacher at RADA, and has just completed a major book on teaching methods for actors and directors.
