Following success with a 2019 tour of Ian Townsend’s play All The Bens, 1974 Productions is to stage his new full-length play My Favourite Place In The Whole Wide World.
Longlisted for the 2019 Bruntwood / Royal Exchange competition, it tells of Ruth and J, two people in search of love and purpose in a world of confusion and loss.
1974 has been building a reputation on the Manchester independent theatre scene since 2018, when its production of A Different Way Home won at the Greater Manchester Fringe awards. In 2019, a revival of All the Bens toured venues across the North West and played a sold-out date in London.
My Favourite Place will be performed at Hope Mill Theatre in Manchester March 1–6.
