Casting has been announced for the 10th anniversary tour of American Idiot, the rock musical with music by punk-pop band Green Day produced by Selladoor Worldwide.
Leading the cast is Waterloo Road’s Tom Milner as Johnny, 2013’s X Factor third place runner-up Luke Friend as St Jimmy and 2016 X Factor finalist Sam Lavery as Whatsername.
The tour opens January 17 in Dunstable before visiting Cardiff, Edinburgh, Malvern, Leicester, Blackpool, Dublin, Sheffield, Manchester, Birmingham, Brighton, Milton Keynes, Reading, Bridlington, Wimbledon, Eastbourne, Glasgow, Bradford and Aberdeen.
The story of youthful disillusion and mistrust of society and government is soundtracked by hit songs "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", "21 Guns", "Wake Me Up When September Ends", "Holiday" and the title track.
