Family entertainment producers Imagine Theatre marked a major milestone with the official opening of its new headquarters in Coventry.

The 68,000 sq ft premises has been named Trafalgar House and will serve as Imagine Theatre’s production base, central store and creative hub. The move reflects the company’s growth and forms part of an expansion of the Trafalgar Entertainment group.

Imagine’s joint chief executive Steve Boden said, “we’re proud to continue providing jobs and creative opportunities in Coventry, a city with a rich history of pantomime, and we’re honoured to carry that legacy forward. The West Midlands cultural sector supports more than 24,000 full-time and freelance jobs and delivers an economic footprint of over £1.1 billion to the region. We’re proud to be a small part of that story.”

Rosemary Squire, Trafalgar’s joint chief executive, commented, “Trafalgar House represents not just a space but a shared commitment to creativity, excellence and growth. Coventry will now be at the very heart of our pantomime business and will provide a central hub for all Trafalgar Entertainment shows.”

Invited guests toured the building to see a prop-making department, wardrobe, fitting rooms, technical and set building spaces and an enormous warehouse with more than 25,000 costumes.
