In Berwick from April to October

The Maltings in Berwick-in-Tweed, which celebrated its 25th anniversary on 4 April, has announced its programme from April to October 2015. Theatrical highlights are:

  • 24 April Dryad Productions Dalloway, adapted from the novel by Virginia Woolf
  • 8 & 9 May A Cinema in South Georgia by Jeffrey Mayhew and Susan Wilson. A story of the whaling men of Eyemouth
  • 23 May The Actor's Apology, one-man show about 18th century Berwick-born actor George Frederick Cooke
  • 19 & 20 June Berwick Festival Opera, The Maltings and Rocket Opera present The Mikado by Gilbert and Sullivan
  • 12 July (2PM) Scamp Theatre presents Stick Man adapted from the book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffer for ages 3+
  • 1 & 2 August Berwick Festival Opera, The Maltings and Rocket Opera present La Scala di Seto (The Silken Ladder) by Rossini
  • 8 August Opera dei Lumi presents Le Nozze di Figaro by Mozart
  • 4 September Die Walküre by Wagner, performed by players from the Hebrides Ensemble and the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland
  • 2 - 3 October Camisado Club presents You, Me and Everything Else, a science fiction love story

This year's pantomime, which will run from 14 to 30 December, will be Little Red Riding Hood.
