Red Dust Road

Scottish writer and poet Jackie Kay’s personal memoir, Red Dust Road, is to play at HOME Manchester in September.

The National Theatre of Scotland and HOME Manchester presents the world première.

Adapted for the stage by Tanika Gupta and directed by Dawn Walton, Red Dust Road will open at the 2019 Edinburgh International Festival, before playing at HOME, Manchester and touring to the Macrobert Arts Centre in Stirling and Eden Court Theatre in Inverness in autumn 2019.

From the moment when, as a little girl, she realises her skin is a different colour from that of her mum and dad, to the tracing and finding of her Highland mother and Nigerian father birth parents, Kay’s journey in Red Dust Road is one of "twists, turns and emotions".
