Joe Tracini will join Julian Clary in Wolverhampton Grand's panto Cinderella

Hollyoaks actor Joe Tracini is to play Buttons in Wolverhampton Grand’s 2014 panto Cinderella.

As previously announced, Julian Clary, “the most glamorous of all panto stars”, according to the theatre, will play Dandini.

Since joining the Channel 4 soap in 2011, Tracini has earned a nomination for best comedy performance at the British Soap Awards.

Cinderella will be presented by pantomime producer Qdos Entertainment, which staged the Grand’s 2013's production of Sleeping Beauty starring Tracini's father Joe Pasquale.

Jonathan Kiley, executive producer of Cinderella, says, "Joe's talent as a comedian is widely recognised and I can't think of anyone better suited to playing Buttons in this year's show.

“I'm absolutely delighted to have him in the cast of what promises to be our biggest and best Wolverhampton pantomime yet."

Grand Theatre chief executive Peter Cutchie adds, “I’m so pleased that Joe will be following in his father’s footsteps this year on our stage, joining Julian Clary in what will be a truly spectacular family pantomime.”

Cinderella runs at Wolverhampton Grand from Saturday 6 December until Sunday 18 January.
