Joseph is heading back to the North East

A new tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, with Union J star Jaymi Hensley as Joseph, is coming to two NE theatres.

The Bill Kenwright production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s popular musical, which opened at the Theatre Royal, Windsor, on 20th February, comes first to Newcastle Theatre Royal from 2nd to 6th April and then returns to the region the following month, running at Darlington Hippodrome from 21st to 25th May as part of a 16 venue tour.

Union J was formed for the 2012 X Factor in which they came fourth. Hensley has recently appeared on a number of UK shows from Release The Hounds (ITV2), The Great Magician (ITV1), Big Brother’s Bit On The Side (Channel 5), Celebrity Masterchef (BBC One), Sex Pod (Channel 5) and When Celebrity Goes Horribly Wrong (Channel 5). In 2018 he appeared on Wedding Day Winners (BBC One), Partner’s In Rhyme (BBC One) and also co-hosted CBBC’S hit show Got What It Takes alongside Lauren Platt. This will be his first role in a major musical.

Lewis Asquith, George Beet, Arthur Boan, Callum Connolly, Andrew Geater (Pharaoh), Alex Hetherington, Trina Hill (Narrator), Mikey Jay-Heath, Matt Jolly, Jamie Jukes, Amber Kennedy, Henry Metcalfe (Jacob), Corey Mitchell, Eve Norris, Gemma Pipe, Joshua Robinson and Ed Tunningley make up the rest of the cast.
