Two faces familiar from TV, Ian Kelsey and Patrick Robinson, will star in a new stage adaptation of The Shawshank Redemption on the 21st anniversary of the film version of the Stephen King novella.
Produced by Bill Kenwright and directed by David Esbjornson with an adaptation by Owen O'Neill and Dave Johns, the production will tour the UK from August to November 2015.
Ian Kelsey (practice manager Howard Bellamy in Doctors) will play Andy Dufresne, a banker who, having been handed a double life sentence for the brutal murder of his wife and her lover, finds himself incarcerated in the notorious Shawshank penitentiary.
Patrick Robinson (Martin "Ash" Ashford in Casualty) will play prison fixer Ellis "Red" Redding.
