Ladies' Day at the Coliseum

Ladies Day comes to Oldham Coliseum in May. First produced at Hull Truck in 2005, the play went on national tour in 2006.

The society event of the year, Royal Ascot, ups sticks to the fair city of York so four intrepid lasses, Jan, Pearl, Linda, and Shelley, fresh from a fish factory in Hull, decide to have a ‘posh’ day out and show the Southern softies how it’s done.

The girls may well be fish out of water, but as they hob-knob with the toffs, their fortunes gradually begin to change—with startling revelations and plenty of humour.

Amanda Whittington’s racy comedy is both funny and touching in turns, and Gareth Tudor Price, director of Hull Truck’s original production, joins the Coliseum team for this production.
