Willy Russell’s Educating Rita opens in the Main House at Theatre by the Lake on April 18, before a UK tour. The new production stars Stephen Tompkinson as Frank and Jessica Johnson as Rita, and is directed by Max Roberts.
Frank is a frustrated poet, academic and drinker, less than enthusiastic about teaching Rita. However, he finds his passion for literature reignited by Rita, whose ability is limited by her lack of education, but whose enthusiasm he finds refreshing.
It runs from April 18 to 27.
