Light and sound will transform a stretch of Lancaster Canal during A Phoenix From The Ashes

A canalside stroll like no other is on offer in Lancaster over two evenings later this month.

A Phoenix From The Ashes will be multimedia experience illuminating a stretch of the canal through the city centre with a series of installations, audio and visual displays, light projections and music.

The free event, which takes place on October 29 and 30, has been commissioned by the Canal and River Trust (formerly British Waterways) to help celebrate the newly refurbished Aqueduct, and is produced by The Dukes.

For two nights, the stretch of the canal that runs from Moor Lane, just up the hill from the Lancaster theatre, to the Water Witch pub will reveal a beautifully animated story of what the waterway means to the city, its heritage and its people.
