Ludus Dance performs outdoors at Lancaster University

The dance craze sweeping New York is coming to Lancaster on May 3 as part of the city’s First Friday initiative encouraging people to try out something new on the local arts scene each month.

Ludus Dance will be leading the three-mile dance walk around Lancaster University campus from 12:30-1:30PM. The event is free and all you need is an iPod and a pair of comfy shoes to enjoy the fun along with other dance walkers.

And the University is also the place to be on May 3 to enjoy Stilled—a combination of improvised performance, music and light with pinhole photography—at The Nuffield Theatre from 1-6PM.

Young people will be making their contribution to May’s First Friday at More Music in The Hothouse in Morecambe from 6:30-9PM.

And there’s a free opportunity to look back on the success of past First Fridays and other great outdoor events in the Lancaster district at Beyond Our Walls, a new exhibition hosted by The Dukes gallery.
