Opera North has appointed Laura Canning its new general director and CEO. She succeeds Richard Mantle OBE who retires December 1.
Laura's operatic career spans 25 years on both sides of the Atlantic. She is currently director of artistic administration for Garsington Opera, a post she has held since 2015.
Laura will formally take up her new role December 4 following the 2023 Garsington Opera Festival and after a transition period.
