Leicester CurveTwo world premieres, a UK premiere and the opening of a major tour are some of the highlights of the autumn season at Leicester’s Curve.

Curve’s artistic director Paul Kerryson and chief executive Fiona Allan introduce the season.

“We’re very pleased to announce a thrilling and diverse season of shows at Curve offering a mix of theatrical experiences from the dark and highly charged Entertaining Mr Sloane by Leicester-born playwright Joe Orton to Hello Dolly!.

“We’re very excited about the season, our home-produced work and the calibre of visiting productions, and hope audiences will be equally enthusiastic.”

The UK premiere will be Certified, a comedy by Glynn Nicholas which lifts the lid on the secrets of the modern businessman. It features Christopher Timothy and Les Dennis and runs from 20 until 29 September.

The world premiere of Finding Neverland, a new musical about the life of J M Barrie, will be brought to the Curve stage by Academy and Tony Award-winning producer Harvey Weinstein and award-winning director Rob Ashford. It runs from 21 September until 18 October.

That will be followed by the world premiere of Obama the Mamba—President of the Slums. It tells how Barack’s brother became self-styled Third World President of Africa’s most lawless slum. It runs from 12 until 20 October.

The National Theatre’s tour of One Man, Two Guvnors visits Curve from 25 October until 3 November.

Paul Kerryson will direct Orton’s funny and sometimes violent play Entertaining Mr Sloane from 1 until 24 November.

Kerryson will also be at the helm for Curve’s Christmas production, Hello Dolly! It takes to the stage from 30 November until 12 January.
