Serious Money and Fen

Leicester’s Curve is to stage two plays by Olivier Award-winning writer Caryl Churchill in collaboration with the city’s De Montfort University.

Serious Money and Fen—performed by DMU students—are a continuation of a cultural partnership between Curve and DMU which began in 2011.

Serious Money, set at the time of a Tory government, represented a groundbreaking approach to the language of theatre, with its use of rhyming couplets and industry jargon.

This revival is directed by Suba Das, Curve’s associate director, community engagement.

Fen scrutinises the lives of low-paid women potato-pickers at the fens in the east of England. Tim Ford, Curve’s associate director, participation and learning, directs.

Serious Money and Fen play in rep at Curve from Thursday (28 February) until Saturday, 9 March.
