Drama plays an integral role in the annual Lichfield Festival, with Lichfield Garrick Studio and the George Hotel hosting this year’s events.

Intimate Theatre performs George Bernard Shaw’s Candida in the George Hotel on the second day of the festival, Saturday, 5 July.

LipService stages a “whacky whirlwind tour of Britain’s female national treasures” in The Hysterical Historical Show in the Garrick Studio on Thursday July 10.

Writer and performer Luke Kempner discovers The Only Way Is Downton in his parody which takes to the Garrick Studio stage on Friday and Saturday, 11 and 12 July.

The festival will celebrate 400 years since the birth of William Shakespeare by offering free, pop-up performances across the city throughout the festival. Full details will be announced later.

The festival guide is available at the Lichfield Festival web site.
