Liverpool’s Lantern Theatre on Blundell Street will close on July 31 after the building has been sold.
The final event in the current space will be their fifth annual Shiny New Festival running from July 15-24 followed by Grin Theatre Company’s Queertet. This will be the biggest Shiny New Festival and will ensure Lantern says goodbye with a bang.
At present the future is uncertain, they are exploring a number of avenues and will make further announcements soon.
In the meantime they thank every theatre company, musician, comedian and audience member as well as their staff and volunteers “who have made the last five years at Lantern Theatre magical.”
