Andrew Lloyd Webber was present at Symphony Hall, Birmingham for the world premières of three new symphonic suites from three of the composer’s most famous shows.

He said, "I had hoped for a long while that there would be symphonic suites based on Phantom of the Opera, Sunset Boulevard and Evita. I’m thrilled that (conductor) Andrew Cottee has orchestrated these pieces of my music and I’m honoured that the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra presented them so wonderfully.

Lloyd Webber was joined at the concert by his brother Julian Lloyd Webber who is principal of Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Ella Stokes, a scholar of the Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation, and foundation technician Ethan Lowry.

Julian Lloyd Webber added, “it was great for the students who’ve benefited from Andrew’s Foundation finally to meet him in person. Andrew was very pleased to have the chance to talk to them and has asked both Ella and Ethan to let him know their progress.”
