Loughborough’s Sleeping Beauty cast unveiled

Victoria Lucie will play Princess Rose

Loughborough Town Hall and producers Little Wolf Entertainment have revealed the cast for their 2022 panto Sleeping Beauty.

Victoria Lucie will play Princess Rose. She appeared in the West End production of Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap in 2020 as Miss Casewell. Sleeping Beauty will be her seventh panto.

Harry Polden will “create a hilarious new twist to the role of Mervin the Magician”. His credits include Gustav in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Love Never Dies at the Adelphi Theatre in 2011.

Currently appearing as Doody in Grease the Musical at London’s Dominion Theatre, Jake Reynolds will play Prince Vince in Sleeping Beauty.

Derby actor Sean McKenzie, who has appeared in the West End in productions including Nick Stafford’s adaptation of Michael Morpurgo’s War Horse and Simon Stephens’s adaptation of Mark Haddon’s The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, will play Nurse Nancy Nightly.

Marisa Harris (Carabosse), Penelope Simons (Fairy Lights), Oliver Stanley (King) and Zac Hanlon who will make his professional debut as Steward and St John complete the cast.

Sleeping Beauty will be written, designed, and directed by Morgan Brind with choreography by Kristian Cunningham.

Co-producers Brind and Alan Bowles of Little Wolf Entertainment said, “rehearsals will be underway soon for what’s already shaping up to be a blockbuster. Tickets are selling faster than ever so we hope you’ll join us for a much-needed laugh this Christmas.”

Sleeping Beauty will run at Loughborough Town Hall from Saturday 19 November until Monday 2 January 2023.
