Love Never Dies, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s follow-up to The Phantom of the Opera, is to go on its first UK tour and will open at Leicester’s Curve in September 2020.
The show is based on the Australian production which also toured North America. Love Never Dies opened at the Adelphi Theatre in the West End in March 2010, closing the following year.
The musical is set in 1907, 10 years after the Phantom has disappeared from the Paris Opera House. He has escaped to New York where he lives among the freak shows of Coney Island.
Christine Daaé is struggling in an ailing marriage to Raoul. She accepts an invitation to perform at an opera house in New York. In a final bid to win back her love, the Phantom lures Christine, her husband and their young son Gustave from Manhattan to the glittering and glorious world of Coney Island.
Love Never Dies will open at Curve from 26 September until 10 October. It will then play Manchester Opera House from 14 until 24 October. Further dates and venues are to be announced.
