The Lowry in Salford has scooped the award for Large Visitor Attraction of the Year 2014 at the Manchester Tourism Awards.

Entries came from some of the City’s most well-known attractions including Manchester United Museum and Tour, Museum of Science and Industry and People’s History Museum.

Julia Fawcett, The Lowry’s Chief Executive, said, "we are very proud to receive this prestigious award which reflects the efforts of the organisation to continue to bring the very best in art and entertainment from around the world to audiences here in Salford.”

Last year, the venue was awarded Best Entertainment Venue 2013 and came Highly Commended in the Business Tourism Award and Tourism Stars of the Year category.
