Miss Nightingale at The Lowry

Miss Nightingale returns to The Lowry for an encore from June 19-22.

Following its sell-out premiere in The Lowry’s Studio in 2011 a reworked Miss Nightingale again sees Rotherham-born international burlesque performer Amber Topaz star as Northern songbird Maggie Brown

It’s a new full-length version of this musical with a larger cast, more than 20 original songs and even more outrageous outfits.

Moving to London in search of fame and fortune, Maggie auditions at every cabaret bar, with her songwriter George, a Jewish refugee, but nobody wants their act. Luck changes when Maggie and George are picked up by wealthy nightclub owner Sir Frank, but devastating secrets lurk backstage.

Writer Matthew Bugg, from Sheffield, is a composer specialising in music for theatre. He has written music for productions at theatres across the UK and in the West End.
