The Storm from M6

Like so many theatre companies, M6 had to cancel tours in March 2020, but the Rochdale-based organisation has still been creating work for children and young people across the UK.

The Storm has now been filmed and, alongside a comprehensive education package, is being offered free of charge to all secondary school pupils across Rochdale.

It raises awareness of the climate emergency and is a powerful film set in an imagined future world.

The project created 11 paid opportunities for freelance creatives. Joining the in-house creative team are writer Nicola Schofield, film-maker Leighton Wise, costume designer Alison Heffernan, Salford-based performer Kirsty Johnson, sound designer Mark Melville and lighting designer Jane Lalljee
