Ruth Madoc as Fairy Godmother in Cinderella

Former Hi-de-Hi star Ruch Madoc is to play Fairy Godmother in this year’s panto Cinderella at Mansfield Palace Theatre.

She is returning to Mansfield 20 years after her last appearance in the Nottinghamshire town, which was as principal boy in Cinderella.

She recalls, “I was last in Mansfield in 1993 with Nicholas Parsons. The town is so friendly. I’m really looking forward to returning and seeing how the Theatre has changed in that time.”

Children’s TV presenter Dave Benson Phillips returns to the Palace Theatre as Buttons.

He says, “I’m absolutely thrilled to be back in Mansfield again this Christmas. I’m looking forward to bringing you all some really lovely fun and silliness. It’s going to be a seriously good show this year.”

Cinderella runs from Saturday until Sunday 5 January.
