Former Coronation Street actress Vicky Entwistle is to play the Bad Fairy in Mansfield Palace Theatre’s 2014 panto Sleeping Beauty.
Vicky Entwistle played loudmouth factory worker Janice Battersby in the soap for 14 years and is looking forward to her role in Sleeping Beauty.
She said, “I love pantomimes and seem to have a track record for playing villains!
“It’s about the kids at the end of the day. I love to hear them booing or hissing because getting a reaction is what it’s all about.
“For a lot of the audience this might be their first experience of a stage performance and it’s an opportunity to show people what going to the theatre is all about.”
Since leaving Coronation Street she has played the role of Madame Thenardier in Les Miserables in the West End and also appeared on Channel 5’s Celebrity Big Brother in 2013.
Sleeping Beauty will run at Mansfield Palace Theatre from Saturday 29 November until Monday 5 January.
