Manchester’s Contact venue has announced that Matt Fenton will be joining the team as artistic director/chief executive from September.
He is currently Director of Live at LICA (Lancaster Institute for the Contemporary Arts), Lancaster University's professional arts organisation.
Matt is a practising theatre director, and also teaches on the Lancaster Masters degree in Contemporary Arts Practice, a course he developed in response to the needs of early career artists.
He said: “I’m really excited to be part of the next chapter at Contact. The incredible role that young people play in the organisation is inspiring, and there could not be a more important time for the skills and confidence they gain there.
"I’m also very happy to be staying the north west, and have hugely valued working with many Manchester arts organisations during my time in Lancaster.”
