Liverpool’s Unity Theatre welcomes new artistic director and chief executive Matthew Linley for his first season of programming.
He succeeds Graeme Phillips, who guided Unity for the last 33 years and maintained its tradition of staging radical but accessible work that stretches back to the 1930s. Graeme left in July.
Matthew, who began the handover process in February 2015, was previously General Manager with Eastern Angles, an acclaimed touring theatre company based in Ipswich. He has also led venues in Leicester (Phoenix Arts), Reading (21 South Street) and Bath (Michael Tippett Centre).
