Have you had a life changing experience at Live Theatre in Newcastle? Witnessed something funny, unusual or romantic? Met a partner, come for a special occasion or heard a story about something that happened in the theatre or buildings?

If so, Annie Rigby and Amy Golding want to hear from you.

They are the joint directors of a new production, currently being developed, called Live Witness, a promenade performance across Live Theatre’s buildings including the newly converted Schoolhouse, especially commissioned for Live Theatre’s 40th anniversary year.

Amy Golding said, “We are asking audiences, actors, staff, youth theatre members and anyone who has a memory, a secret or even a photograph about their experience in the theatre and its buildings to let us know and we’d love to talk to them to find out more. We want to hear from those whose voices are not usually heard on the stage.”

“As part of Live Witness,” Annie Rigby added, “the audience will get a glimpse of unusual and unseen spaces around the building, help to prepare a surprise birthday party for Live Theatre, and witness recreations of special moments from the theatre's past. It's going to be fantastic fun.”

Live Witness will reveal secrets and stories with performances nightly at 6:30PM and 9PM between Tuesday 14 and Saturday 25 May (except Monday 20 May).

Anyone with a story or picture to share is invited to post it on Live Theatre’s web site, via its Facebook page or Twitter @Livetheatre using #LiveWitness by Friday 1 March.
