Theatre By The Lake in Keswick kickstarts its 2022 season with The Glee Club, a comedy about a group of miners who love to sing.
It runs from February 24–March 12.
Five hard-working, hard-drinking miners and a church organist are rehearsing frantically for the local gala. And though they’ve played their share of workingmen’s clubs, they’re not exactly in the vanguard of a musical revolution. But this is the summer of ’62. Britain and music are about to change forever. And so are the lives of these six men.
The Glee Club was so successful when it premièred in 2002 that it transferred to the West End.
Theatre by the Lake will also be offering two-for-one tickets for three shows across all performances from March 1–12 and for all price bands. Audiences can make a total purchase of four tickets (gaining two free tickets) per show but can book for all three if they like.
UK Theatre has recently launched Love Your Local Theatre, a new campaign encouraging the public to support their theatres as they recover from the impact of COVID. Theatre by the Lake has joined more than 100 venues to National Lottery players who attend a show during the month of March.
