Further casting has been announced for A Raisin in the Sun, a Nottingham Playhouse co-production with Headlong, Leeds Playhouse and Lyric Hammersmith Theatre.
Doreene Blackstock will play Lena, Gilbert Kyem Jnr will take the role of George while Kenneth Omole will be Joseph and Bobo. The role of Travis will be performed by Jayden Dias, Josh Ndlovu and Adiel Magaji in Leeds and Oxford, and by Jeriah Kibusi and Oliver Dunkley in London and Nottingham.
They join the previously announced Joséphine-Fransilja Brookman (Beneatha), Cash Holland (Ruth), Solomon Israel (Walter Lee) and Jonah Russell (Karl).
Lorraine Hansberry's A Raisin in the Sun broke barriers as the first play by a black woman on Broadway. This new production premières at Leeds Playhouse from Friday 13 until Saturday 28 September. It will then play Oxford Playhouse from Wednesday 2 until Saturday 5 October, Lyric Hammersmith Theatre from Tuesday 8 October until Saturday 2 November and Nottingham Playhouse from Tuesday 5 until Saturday 16 November.
