More shows added to Coventry season

Joe Pasquale in Ha Ha Holmes! at the Belgrade on 12 November

Coventry’s Belgrade Theatre has announced a further 22 shows which will complete its autumn and winter season.

Running on the main stage from 23 to 26 October is Kindertransport. Directed by Coronation Street actor Andrew Hall, this production marks the 75th anniversary of the Kindertransport movement which resulted in more than 10,000 mainly Jewish children being separated from their parents as they were ferried to safety from Germany and Austria during the Second World War.

This will be followed by the musical Our House, inspired by the music of the band Madness, from 28 October until 2 November.

Comedian, actor, television presenter and I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! winner Joe Pasquale will be making his way to the Belgrade in the Sherlock Holmes spoof Ha Ha Holmes! on Tuesday 12 November.

Moscow Ballet La Classique is back at the Belgrade with Sleeping Beauty from 14 until 16 November while OperaUpClose returns with its new version of La Traviata on 21 January.

All-male Shakespeare company Propeller presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream and The Comedy of Errors from 11 until 15 February.

There’s family fun from 18 until 22 February when Horrible Histories takes its Barmy Britain show to the main stage with gory tales of William Wallace, Queen Boudicca, King Charles and Dick Turpin.;

The plight of the 1984 miners’ strike will be brought to life in Brassed Off from 23 until 26 April.
