Best Girl is a new one-woman play written for this year’s GMFringe and at Hope Aria July 18–20.

It’s the first play written by Lancaster actress Christine Mackie (Downton Abbey, Coronation Street, Banana) and stars her daughter Lois, who trained at Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

It’s a semi-autobiographical play, based on the true story of the suicide of Christine’s father, a World War Two veteran, and the impact on her life.

It’s also at Edinburgh Fringe July 31 to August 26 (except 12 & 19) at Cellar, Pleasance Courtyard.
